About Tokyo Station
Tokyo Station is one of Tokyo’s major transportation hubs. Opened in 1914, it is known for the historic red-brick Marunouchi Station Building on its western side.
The station is served by the Yamanote Line and many other JR lines, as well as several Shinkansen routes connecting Tokyo with cities across Japan. Beneath and around the station is a large network of shops, restaurants, department stores, and underground passages.
