About Sugamo Station

Sugamo Station is a quiet neighborhood on the northern side of the Yamanote Line, known for its traditional shopping streets and local atmosphere.

The area’s main attraction is Jizo-dori Shopping Street, a lively street lined with small shops, traditional sweets, restaurants, and everyday goods. It is sometimes nicknamed “Harajuku for Grandmas” because of its popularity with older visitors.

Along the street, Koganji Temple is home to the famous Togenuki Jizo and is one of Sugamo’s best-known landmarks.
